The DEVIasphalt™ ice and snow melting system is a system installed directly in asphalt ensuring instantaneous relief from snow build up and ice forming. 
Like any other outdoor areas during winter, snow and ice need to be removed from asphalt surfaces to secure safe access to buildings.

Electric heating cables and mats
DEVIasphalt™ series introduces completely new standards for high performance cables used for ice and snow melting in asphalt areas outside.
   
DEVIasphalt™ cables and DEVIasphalt™ mats are recommended for asphalt installations as they provide short-term resistance to temperatures of 240 °C. With this type of cables and mats the sand bed over the cable is not required. This reduces time and installation costs. To avoid cable damage, heavy machinery (rollers or asphalt laying machines) should not be used. Asphalt cover should be at least 5 cm thick from the top of the DEVIasphalt™ heating cables. An electrician should ensure cable and insulation resistance measurements both before and after asphalt is applied.

Thermostats or controllers
The DEVIreg™ 850 IV is an advanced thermostat with LED display, can handle 2 independent zones, provide information about both moisture level and temperature.
One of the greatest advantages of this system is a prompt response and as a result, the most energy efficient solution for the ground ice & snow melting applications.

Accessories
The ground sensor measures two parameters on the sensor surface:
- temperature
- moisture from ice, snow, hail or rain
These measurements are sent to the DEVIreg™ 850 IV, and it decides how the ice and snow melting system should control the heated areas.

Comfort underfloor heating is designed to maintain a constant floor temperature all year round, regardless of the heating season. Optimal comfort levels have been well studied and described, for example, in the ISO/TS 13732-2 standard. According to this standard, the maximum long-term comfortable floor surface temperature is set at 29,5 °C. In addition, people sitting may need to increase the temperature by 1–2 °C for optimal comfort. In humid rooms, the maximum floor surface temperature can reach 31 °C.

Electric heating cables and mats
For thin floor constructions, it is recommended to use DEVImat™ or DEVIcomfort™ heating mats or DEVIcomfort™ cables. These mats and cable have a diameter of only 3-4 mm, which allows for a thinner screed layer compared to standard floor heating systems, but not less than 10 mm.

For thicker floor constructions, DEVIflex™ or DEVIbasic™ cables can be used, each with a diameter of 7-8 mm. In such cases, the minimum screed thickness should be 3 cm.

For floor constructions without screed, for example during renovations or some new buildings, the DEVIcell™ LowCarbon system is ideal. DEVIcell™ LowCarbon is an energy-efficient solution that offers energy savings of up to 20% thanks to integrated thermal insulation. The insulation panels are coated with aluminum, which helps transfer heat 33% faster, and have pre-formed grooves for quick and easy installation of DEVIflex™ 6T , DEVIflex™ 10T heating cables.

The specified power must not exceed the design limits of the floor structure. Incorrectly selected power can lead to problems such as damage to the top layer of the floor, excessive drying of the laminate and other unforeseen complications. All the thermostats above are ECO design LOT20 compliant.

A total or direct underfloor heating system is a single heating system installed in a room (or area) to maintain a user-set temperature in the room. This is achieved by regulating the temperature of the floor surface due to the variable heat transfer from the floor surface. Such a system is controlled by a thermostat with a room and floor temperature sensor or by a room temperature sensor only. 

Electric heating cables and mats
The specified output must fully cover the heat losses of the designed building and should not exceed the structural limits of the floor construction.

During the winter, problems with freezing in fresh water, waste water, cooling water, supply water and sprinkler systems can be avoided by internal or external pipe heating. 

Pipes installed outdoor or inside unheated premises, even if insulated, can be subjected to low temperatures that result in ice generation inside pipes.

Electric heating cables 
DEVI heating system provides a versatile solution for water pipes protection (including drinking water pipelines) against freezing.

For on-pipe application: DEVIflex™ constant wattage cables or self-limiting cables such as DEVIpipeguard™, provide flexible and on-site cut-to-length solutions.

For in-pipe application: DEVIaqua™ constant wattage cables or self-limiting cables such as DEVIpipeheat™ 10 V3. 

Also, for the fire sprinkler system, DEVI company can offer The DEVIpipeguard™ LSZH, which is a halogen free.

Thermostats or controllers
The system should be regulated by electronic thermostats. This is required for both constant wattage cables and self-limiting cables to prevent overheating and power consumption during standby periods.

For single pipes, analogue thermostats can be used such as DEVIreg™ 330 or DEVIreg™ 610.

For multi pipe networks, DEVIreg™ Multi can be used, channel electronic programmable controller which can be installed on DIN rail. Every channel can be individually set up with three control modes –with temperature sensor, time proportional power regulation without sensor and manually on/off with time limitation.

One of the main advantages is Modbus RS485 opto-insulated serial interface gives possibility for BMS control.

DEVI’s ice and snow melting system for roofs and roof gutters can be applied for virtually any type of roof constructions to prevent meltwater accumulation in roof gutters and to reduce damage to constructions like frozen facades and roofs.
The ice and snow melting system should be installed along the roof edge or where there is a risk of ice and snow formation. Damage prevention in roof gutters and downpipes is achieved by efficient and free meltwater draining, which typically proves satisfactory operation of the system.

Electric heating cables 
The DEVIsnow™ and DEVIsafe™ resistive heating cables are most suitable heating elements for installations on the roof edges, whole flat roof areas, gutter valleys and downpipes/gutters for houses far from trees.
  
Heating cable DEVIsafe™ and DEVIsnow™ are twin conductor resistive heating cables complies with IEC 60800:2009 and provides high UV resistance. Ready-made set with a connection box and 2,5 m cold lead. Cable design provides 230 V and 400 V power supply and ensures installation in a safe, efficient and cost-saving manner. 

The DEVIiceguard™ self-limiting cable is the most suitable heating element for the installations in gutters and downpipes for the houses near the treas. The leaves and benches collected from trees in the drainage system and can work as insulation, cause the overheating of twin-conductor cables. The DEVIiceguard™ cables solves this issue. 
  
Heating cable DEVIiceguard™ is a self-limiting parallel heating cable (SLC) with high UV resistance. The cable can be cut to the required length from drum or ready-made version.

Every year vine growers from different regions face a problem of late frosts. They often happen in April - May when buds start blossoming. Late spring frosts are one of the greatest challenges vine growers are facing. Non-heated vines can suffer considerable inflorescence damage (up to 50%), whilst heated vines will have dramatically improved protection of harvest loss or damage and reduce the losses to approximately 13-20%.

Thermostats or controllers
Thermostats and controllers are fitted with a complete set of control functions for frost protection systems.

To control electric heating systems, simple thermostats are recommended as a standard solution. If the output more than 3000 Watts, connect heating cables via the contactor.

DEVIreg™ 330 (+5…+45 °C) and DEVIreg™ 330 (-10…+10 °C) can be used for such purposes.

Wire sensors should be installed according to specific project data. Minimum one sensor must be used for one heated zone (could be one vineyard row or few rows depending on field size and location).

Line of digital controllers have special functions which can be programmed for different purposes. 

DEVIreg™ Multi is 7 channel electronic programmable controller to be installed on DIN rail.
